Outside Lands Expands Its Identity With City Hall Weddings, Major 2026 Lineup, and a Deepened Cultural Vision
By. Alicia Zamora
Returning once again to San Francisco’s iconic summer setting, Outside Lands will transform Golden Gate Park into a three-day convergence of music, food, art, and now—personal milestones—when it returns August 7–9, 2026.
The festival continues its tradition of blending cultural scale with local identity, celebrating the Bay Area through an expansive mix of live performances, culinary experiences, and immersive installations. This year, however, Outside Lands is also extending its reach into a more intimate space: legally binding weddings and vow renewals inside the festival itself.
A Festival Built on Culture, Now Expanding Into Ceremony
Deeply rooted in San Francisco’s creative ecosystem, Outside Lands has long positioned itself as more than a music festival. With Golden Gate Park serving as its home, the event has grown into a multi-sensory cultural experience recognized by Billboard as one of the country’s premier festival venues.
Beyond its stages, the festival integrates over 100 local food vendors, wineries, breweries, and cocktail programs, alongside large-scale art installations and interactive spaces that reflect the identity of Northern California.
2026 Headliners and Daily Programming
The 2026 edition opens on Friday, August 7th with a headline set from Charli xcx, marking a long-awaited festival debut. The opening day also features performances from Turnstile, GRIZTRONICS (Subtronics + GRiZ), Labrinth, GloRilla, Geese, Clipse, Modest Mouse, Wet Leg, Sierra Ferrell, Tinashe, and more across multiple stages.
Saturday, August 8th brings the return of The Strokes, alongside sets from The xx, Djo, PinkPantheress, Dijon, Ethel Cain, Lucy Dacus, Malcolm Todd, and DJ Trixie Mattel.
The festival closes Sunday, August 9th with a headline performance by RÜFÜS DU SOL, joined by Baby Keem, Empire of the Sun, Death Cab for Cutie, Disco Lines, Mariah the Scientist, JADE, Destin Conrad, and others.
Access, Tickets, and Availability
While much of the festival’s ticket inventory has already sold out—including most 3-Day GA, GA+, and VIP passes—select Friday and Sunday GA and GA+ tickets, along with Golden Gate Club access, remain available. A waitlist is open for sold-out tiers, and shuttle passes are still being offered.
City Hall package holders will also receive concierge access to purchase festival tickets if needed upon confirmation.

Outside Lands has always positioned itself at the intersection of culture, community, and creativity. In 2026, that vision expands further—moving beyond performance and into personal memory-making.
By integrating weddings into its programming, the festival is no longer just a place people attend. For some, it becomes a place where life changes.
