After four years away from the road, She & Him are officially making their return with the newly announced “Pump Up The Volumes Tour,” a North American run set to begin September 20 in Chicago.

The tour announcement arrives during an unexpected resurgence for the duo, made up of Zooey Deschanel and M. Ward. Earlier this year, “I Thought I Saw Your Face Today” — originally featured on their 2008 debut album Volume One — found a second life online after going viral across social media platforms. The renewed popularity pushed the track onto the Billboard Hot 100, marking the duo’s first-ever entry on the chart nearly two decades after the song’s original release.

Despite its lasting fan-favorite status, the song had never been released as an official single. The pair recently performed it live on television for the first time during a special appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, introducing the song to an entirely new audience while reminding longtime listeners why it became so beloved in the first place.

Their upcoming “Pump Up The Volumes Tour” will celebrate the trio of original studio albums that helped define She & Him’s warm, nostalgic indie-pop sound. Fans can expect performances spanning Volume One, Volume Two, and Volume 3, alongside the vintage-inspired charm and chemistry that has carried the duo through nearly twenty years of collaboration.

Since the release of their 2022 album Melt Away: A Tribute To Brian Wilson, She & Him have continued to showcase the influences that shaped their identity from the beginning: classic pop songwriting, analog recording techniques, and a deep appreciation for timeless melodies. Their tribute to Brian Wilson was met with widespread praise and further cemented the duo’s place as one of indie music’s most enduring partnerships.

The story of She & Him began in 2007 while Deschanel was filming The Go-Getter. Director Martin Hynes introduced her to Ward for a soundtrack collaboration, leading the pair to record a cover of Richard & Linda Thompson’s “When I Get To The Border.” Soon after, they reunited in Portland to begin recording Deschanel’s original songs, eventually resulting in Volume One — the album that introduced listeners to her songwriting voice and quietly launched one of indie pop’s most recognizable duos.

Over the years, She & Him expanded their catalog with multiple original releases as well as acclaimed cover projects including A Very She & Him Christmas, Christmas Party, and Classics. Through it all, their music has remained rooted in sincerity, understated emotion, and a love for vintage pop traditions.

The “Pump Up The Volumes Tour” begins September 20 at the Riviera Theatre in Chicago before making stops in New York, Boston, Seattle, Los Angeles, and San Francisco. The run also includes a festival appearance at Merriweather Post Pavilion in Columbia, Maryland.

Artist presale begins June 1 at 10 a.m. local time, followed by local and promoter presales on June 2. General ticket sales begin June 3 at 10 a.m. local time.
