Wave to Earth Is Making Waves with New Flaws and All Tour

By. Alicia Zamora

For those of you who are reading this and are wondering “Who is Wave to Earth?”, let me give you a little introduction. Wave to Earth is a Korean indie band that debuted in 2019 with their song “Wave”. The band consists of three members; guitarist/songwriter Kim Daniel, drummer Dongkyu Shin, and bassist John Cha. From their release of wave, they continued with releasing fellow EP’s wave 0.01 and wave 0.02 in 2020. They then released Flaws and all on April 20, 2023.

Making Waves

Last year they had a North America tour which was a sold-out tour for all twenty of their stops. This year they announced a new tour under the name “Flaws and All Tour” which will be in Asia, Europe, and the UK. Before this tour, they had an opening for it which was ‘The First Era Concert’ which also sold out in seconds. Once again they sold out all fourteen shows in minutes. With all this success they also will be performing in New York in May for Head In the Clouds.

Only the Beginning

With all of their upcoming tours and events Wave to Earth is catching the attention of many. The once small band from Korea is now growing bigger and bigger. Starting off with such a small following to gaining millions overnight is quite the accomplishment and Planktons couldn’t be more proud. As much as I would’ve loved to gatekeep Wave to Earth; I am beyond happy for all of the success they are experiencing and can’t wait to see what comes next.

Flaws and All

They have experienced so much growth in such a short time but that's the thing about Wave to Earth. Their music just captures you, it immerses you into a whole other dimension. You can feel and see the passion they have when performing. I had the chance to see them live last year in LA and it was genuinely one of the greatest concerts I’ve been to.

Seeing the passion they had in their eyes up close let me know that the music they release and sing is really important to them. They spread a message of sincerity and love. Their music is full of hard work and you can see how much effort they put into any of the songs they release.

Evening Glow

Overall, their music has so many emotions that you can feel. When performing you can see them putting their all into it. When Daniel was singing you could see him quite literally glowing. They would look into the crowd with the biggest smiles on their faces. I know they were thinking “We made it.” Being in the crowd felt like such an honor since I was able to see how crazy talented they were. Seeing Dongkyu so passionate on the drums was breathtaking. Seeing Daniel go crazy on the guitar and John doing his own thing on the bass was worth the twelve hours in line. Wave to Earth is a talented group that is finally getting the recognition they deserve. These sold-out tours are a huge accomplishment and I’m hoping they start selling out stadiums for the next tour.

Keep Up With Wave to Earth
