“It’s Going Down” in San Jose: STAYC Bring Power, Charm, and Growth to the Civic

San Jose, California
 — STAYC made their long-awaited return to the Bay Area with the “STAY TUNED” Tour at the San Jose Civic Center on October 5, 2025. I was at their San Francisco show during their first U.S. tour in 2023, and while the two-year wait felt long, it was worth it. Their confidence, stage presence, and live energy have multiplied, and their sound has grown more refined without losing the bright tone that defines them.

The San Jose Civic filled early, with fans waving banners and lightsticks long before the lights went down. Once the six members—Sumin, Sieun, Isa, Seeun, Yoon, and J—walked on stage, the noise hit another level. They opened with “BEBE” and “1 Thing,” setting the tone right away. The crowd was already on its feet, and that energy never faded throughout the night. “POPPY”, “Beautiful Monster” and “Cheeky Icy Thang” followed, all met with loud, full-venue chants that carried through the verses.”

Then came the solo stages from their album Metamorphic, giving each member/unit a chance to take center stage in their own way, something they didn’t do last tour.

  • “Find,” performed by Sieun, Seeun, and J, slowed the pace and let their vocals breathe, a softer moment that gave the crowd space to take everything in.

  • Isa followed with “Roses,” her tone steady and warm, the kind of song that filled the room without needing any big movement.

  • Sumin and Yoon closed the segment with “Fakin’,” turning the energy back up through their chemistry and sharp delivery that pulled the crowd right back into motion.

After the solos, the members took a break to chat with fans, asking for Bay Area food and sightseeing recommendations while laughing and teasing each other on stage. It was a relaxed moment that showed how comfortable they’ve become with U.S. audiences and their dedication to truly getting to know their fans.

When “YOUNG LUV” started, everything changed. That song isn’t just a fan favorite; it’s my all-time favorite STAYC track. Hearing it again, in a room twice as big and twice as loud as the last time, felt like stepping back into a memory. The chorus hit, and the entire Civic sang together, lightsticks swaying in time, voices echoing off the walls.

The energy carried through the rest of the set with “Beauty Bomb,” “Meant to Be,” and “I WANT IT,” which turned into one long call-and-response and sing-along between the group and the audience. The Bay Area crowd lived up to its reputation, with its renowned “Bay Area Bark” and shouting so loud that the members laughed and smiled between lines. “Bubble” and “Trouble Maker” added a lighter, playful tone before shifting into “Twenty” and “GPT,” both of which hit harder live than they do on record.

The final stretch of the main set was packed with their biggest hits. “STEREOTYPE” and “RUN2U” had the crowd jumping in sync, while “ASAP” and “Teddy Bear” brought pure chaos and joy, with everyone shouting lyrics without missing a beat. They shared their thoughts on the show and closed with “SO BAD,” the track that started it all, now performed with the kind of power and ease that comes from years of growth. It was the perfect way to end the main set, a bridge between who they were and who they’ve become.

After a short break, they returned for the encore, with “Gummy Bear” and finished with “Stay WITH me,” a slower and more emotional finish that left the venue glowing. Fans stayed even after the lights came on, chanting their names while the group thanked everyone for the support and promised to return soon.

The “STAY TUNED” Tour will continue through North America until October 23, 2025. The San Jose show may have been just one stop, but it summed up what makes STAYC who they are. Their sound has matured, their chemistry has tightened, and their connection with fans feels stronger than ever. It was going down in San Jose, and by the end, no one wanted it to stop.
