In the Evening Blue

By. Alicia Zamora

Steph Chow is an alternative R&B/ Indie artist and producer that is based in New York City. She has spent the past few years as a session guitarist who has opened for artists like Amaarae and Sarah Kinsley.

She announced earlier this year that she would be dropping a single under the title ‘Evening Blue’.

Evening Blue

Starting off with the melody of it you can really hear and understand the instrumentals. This song has a nostalgic feel to it. It reminds me of fall. It's one of those songs that you can easily get hooked on. The way her vocals smoothly run with the background of her beat.

‘Evening Blue’ is not just a beautiful title but overall this song is quite extraordinary. It feels like one of those love songs that reminds you of a past lover, one of those lovers that you’ve known for years and suddenly you just disconnected with them.

Diving In

This is her first single and I can already see how great her next piece of work is going to be. For this to be a debut album is truly amazing. You can see the talent and the passion she has for music. The track speaks for itself. With this single, you can have a sense of what her music is but I feel like she has so much potential and I can’t wait to see what else she has planned.

“Half of me is with you” this part in particular really sinks me into another dimension. This song has something to it that just makes you bop your head and it gives you a big hit of serotonin. This song will surely be on repeat, replay, on on your top listens for the week.

Listen up

Overall, this was a lovely song and was beautifully written. Starting with the melody and the instrumentals you can instantly tell that your about to dive into something so immersing that youll get absorbed into it. As a debut single this was such a great track. In the future I’m hoping to hear more of her work and hopefully and EP or album soon.
