Jeon Ji-woo, also known as Jiwoo, is a South Korean-Canadian soloist, singer, rapper, and producer signed with WAVY. He made his official debut as Jiwoo on July 6, 2019, with his digital EP "Maison". After his last release in 2022 for his EP ‘Evergray’ Jiwoo went off the grid a bit but came back stronger than ever in 2024 with his new single ‘Afterimage’.
With this new single Jiwoo is coming back stronger than ever. He has never made a bad song since the beginning of his career — all his releases have been absolutely breathtaking. For this single in particular, it has more of a pop sound to it. It’s like one of those songs that you can picture playing in the club.
Instantly going into the song you can feel the seductive vibe. His low voice and the R&B beat are smooth. He has a way with his vocals that sink you into the song. This song is a mixture of a love song with a seductive vibe to it — “Baby nobody compares. Baby, you won’t know until my afterimage disappears.” This is such a great track. The way the beat and melodies instantly suck you in.

Right off the bat, the melody just catches your full attention. You can easily put this song and automatically just go with the flow of it. Jiwoo came to save 2024 with this new single. With this unexpected drop, fans are dying to see what else he has planned. The song itself says so much about him as an artist. The way his voice blends in so smoothly with the beat and the way he can control his vocal tone. From the lyrics to the melody, everything just flows so beautifully.

Overall, this single was very anticipated and exactly what the fans were waiting for. I can’t wait to see what Jiwoo has planned for future releases. Hopefully a tour soon or maybe a full album but this single seems like it’s just the beginning.
